While flowering kale, also known as decorative or oriental kale, somewhat resembles salad savoy, the true difference is in the taste. The Packer’s Produce Availability Guide describes Salad Savoy® as an “open-headed leafy vegetable closely related to kale and cabbage, but should not be confused with flowering kale, which is used mostly as an ornamental…the flavor resembles cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli” while describing flowering kale, a bedding flower, as “having a bitter taste.” Also, with the bolt-resistancy of Salad Savoy®, there is gourmet quality product year-round.

Most of our products can be eaten raw or cooked. They can be easily steamed, sautéed, microwaved or boiled to be added to a variety of recipes.
